Departments

Review Department

The Review Team's main responsibility is to traffic student submissions. This is the final step in getting student submitted work onto our air waves. The process includes the review of material submitted, compressing the DVD/VHS tape into H.264 format (to ensure the best quality), and lastly uploading it onto our playlist for viewing. We're the last stage in bringing to student work to the entire UCSC community. This year we are working with the Programming Dept. in order to have regularly scheduled programs

Events Department

The Events Team is responsible for filming real life happenings in and around the UCSC campus. It is our intention to broadcast these events to people who would be most interested and affected by them. Composed of volunteers and SCTV students, we strive to capture a diverse array of talents, opinions, and genres that constitute student and community life.

Programming Department

The Programming Department is responsible for coordinating all the shows and student submissions put on the air, taking care of when they will play on the station, and what bloacks of programming will play when. The department is also a backbone for programming organizations which put out regular programming for the station, such as freshman 15, and bananna slug news. It is also their responsibility to create original programming to put on the air, such as sctv shorts, and sctv's short social documentation group.

Publicity Department

The Publicity Department is in charge of getting the word out about SCTV, and its programming. This serves to get new members to join the organization and also more people to watch as well.

Business Department

The Business Department is in charge of the business aspects of running a TV station, this includes finding businesses to underwrite(this is sort of like advertising) to support our programming, and managing the station's budget. These brave souls do what needs to be done, to have a smoothe running station.
